Poha / Avalakki


This dish is very easy to make  for breakfast or evening snacks.

Yield:  4 Serving

Ingredients:
            Thick Poha                  3 Cup (Big) Also know as Thick Pressed rice,Flatten rice.
            Onion                          1 (Small, Finely Chopped)
            Green Chili                  2 ( Cut into Length wise)
            Oil                               2 Teaspoon
            Potato                          1 (Cubes size cut)
            Pea                              1/2 Cup
            Salt                              As per taste
            Sugar                           1/2 Teaspoon
            Mustard Seeds             a pinch
            Curry Leave                2 Block of leaves
            Thin Sev                      1/2 Cup
            Lemon                         1 Teaspoon (squeezed Juice of Lemon)
            Turmeric Powder         1/2 Teaspoon
            Cilantro                        a small Bunch (Finely chopped)
Direction:

Wash the Poha with water one time and then keep it for 10-15 minutes in the remaining little water left after the drain so that it will turn soft.

Now start for Tadka :Heat the oil in the wok and once oil start smoking add Mustard seeds ,Curry Leave. After a while add Onion and Potato and cover the lid for 5-7 minutes. Now stir and check if potato cooked by pressing the one potato cube if it breaks into two. If the Potato is not properly cooked then again cover lid and let it cook for another 3-5 minutes and check in between if it not stick to the bottom.

Once potato are done add Pea and cover the lid for 2 minutes. In the soft poha now add Salt ,Turmeric Powder and Sugar mix well with fork as now it's turn into yellow color. Now add the poha into masala and mix well with soft hand so it won't turn messy.

Cover lid for 3 minutes and add now finely chopped Cilantro ,Lemon Juice and mix well.

Serve hot with Thin Sev garnish.
